Yeah, running out of gas cost us $580, which we can ill-afford right now. The fuel pump was burned out, and that plus the flat tire/rim will be $580. Very painful.
Now I wish I hadn't already signed up to go to Spokane. I'm going to feel guilty about how much $ it cost, especially in light of this.
I used to think I was good at managing money. Now I'm not so sure.

I hate unanticipated expenses, especially when I feel partly responsible in bringing them on. Sometimes you just have to accept them, move on, and trust that God will continue to provide. Of course that's easier said than done!
Don't feel guilty. It will only ruin the trip and the $s are spent anyway. Get back to feeling proud of all the hard work you've done preparing for Spokane and enjoy the friendship and success you will find there. Take advantage of the weekend to restore yourself, then you'll have the energy to deal with the other issues next week.
Think of the trip as a mental health expense.
As others have said, it is money already spent, and the only way to waste it is to show up with a bad attitude. :-)
