What a cute costume idea! I may steal it for next year. Did you think it up/make the costumes yourself?

I did make them myself, but I got the idea from a magazine. It was cheap and easy, though. I'm not much of a seamstress so it had to be easy. I bought the turtlenecks & sweats at the thrift store (Calvin already had a pair of sweats, though!) and an old white T-shirt which I cut into circles and sewed on the turtlenecks. Then I used puffy paint to do the Thing 1 and Thing 2. Finally, I bought 2 cheerleader pompoms and used a twist-tie to attach the pompom part to a headband for each child. Also bought some white face paint. Oh, and they aren't wearing them in the photo, but I got Michelle a pair of red mittens at the thrift store for 29 cents, and a red scarf for Calvin for 69 cents that I cut up and used to sew into mittens for him (they didn't have red mittens his size). Total cost was about $15. Total time about 2 hr.

Hi Anne,

Go ahead - it wasn't "my" idea anyway, and it was fun!
