Oh, you deleted your "down post". Yep, I go through the "dang, I suck" moments too.

But there is that dreaded bell-curve and those who have the ability to REALLY succeed are way out there on the left. :-)

I have a Ph. D. and some peer reviewed publications, but I am at least an A.U. away from being MIT caliber in math, and don't even mention sports, where my 100 mile walk PR is 6 HOURS (at least) away from a world class time. :-)

But it is relative. I remember walking a 50K in Chicago in 2005 with Augie Hirt (who is on Jeff Salvage's list of all time US walkers). I gave up toward the end; Augie asked me why and I said "I was 20 minutes off of my PR". He laughed and said "Ollie, I was 1 HOUR off of MY PR"; he was still in the 5:40's on a cold, windy day.

yeah, I deleted it because my coach thought it was overly negative. I probably should have left it, because it's the reality of how I felt yesterday. We all have those "I suck" moments, I guess...

And yes, it is all relative. Thanks for sharing the story of Augie Hirt. That was a good one :).

I am trying to learn to be satisfied with the best I can do; there is always someone better!!!!!
